General Information about the Series

Whats so special about the ASA division? The following list are some of the differences between the ASA series and a normal MORL series.

  1. This is an all short track league with that has no tracks over 1 miles in size.

  2. All tracks are modified with ASA logos and sponsors as well as personal haulers in the infield to give a more realistic look to the tracks

  3. All tracks have the restrictor plate on to give the same feel as the rev limiter in a real ASA car. This does not have the same effect as Superspeedways. While cars top out at 6800 RPM's it's not a hold your foot to the floor type of race.
  4. Tracks have modified grip which makes the cars faster in the turns and makes them handle a little better then a normal NASCAR. This can be better for drivers that are just starting out. However this is not arcade style grip. The car can spin out or push into the wall on a mistake. Major setup changes can get the cars just as loose as any regular track for those guys that like to run them loose :)
  5. 2x tire wear and fuel use as well as a 2 pit stop minimum.
  6. Realistic weather. The temp, wind conditions will all be taken from the actual location during the pre race meeting to get the race conditions.
  7. Driver Finances. The drivers have to survive in the series on what funds they have
  8. Pre Race activities. Several times during the season a shootout race will be held before the regular race. This will be a 20-30 lap race for additional finances.
