Track Progress

Full tracks will be available download once they are 100% completed. They will be on the MORL tracks page. All tracks are exclusively for the MORL drivers. Please do not pass them around or directly link to them without permission form the ASA Series Director.

The full ASA tracks will be in a zip file. What you will need to do is create a track folder. If you have never done this you would go into your NASCAR 2003 directory and then the tracks folder. You would then create a folder and match the name to the track. Bristol would be bristol_asa. You then unzip all the files into that folder. The track should then work in NASCAR 2003. There are no additional files to change or add. If you have any problems with a track please contact superd46@yahoo.com

There is an additional file that comes with the tracks. It is ASA.cup.sim. This is the ASA setup I have made for the track. This is a fairly stable setup to start with and in the event a fixed setup race would be run this would be the setup used. This setup is made like the fast setup and it is possible to get a lot more speed using a custom made setup to suit your driving style.

Tracks

Bristol - 100% Done - Known problems. The sharpie 500 logo on the concrete on the apron was impossible to change. I spent over an hour trying to figure out why it wouldn't show up right. The new logo would always show up gray and on gray concrete it was impossible to see. Since it's one logo I left it alone. There is also a partial logo coming out of turn 4. I know what is causing it but it would involve changed around the wall logos so it was left as is.

When installing thsi track the folder you create must be named bristol_asa

Track Speeds

Evergreen - 100% - Known problems...None at the current time.

When instaling this track the folder you create must be named evergrn_asa Anything other then that you will get a track not found error when in the game.

Track Speeds

Martinsville - 100% - Know Problems...None at the current time. This track does have 2 grooves and depending on your setup you can be just as fast up high as down low.

When installing this track you must create a folder named martinsville_asa.

Track Speeds

Lacrosse - 100% - Known Problems...None at the current time. This was going to be the night version but after I had some problems with track shadows and dark spots I changed it to the day version. This is one of the best handeling tracks for me and my favorite to drive so far.

When installing this track you must create a folder named lacrosse_asa

Track Speeds

Richmond - 100% - Known Problem...None at the current time

When installing you can try just extracting it. It "should" create a folder name richmond_asa and put all the files inside because it's a winzip exe file

Track Speeds

Louisville - 99.9% - Known Problems - There are problems with using openGL. Some of the billboards and other images will have odd color problems. This occured before I made any modifications to the track. At the current time we will have to live with the Open GL problems. I know how to fix them but I don't have the tools to do it.

When installing you can try just extracting it. It "should" create a folder name louville_asa and put all the files inside because it's a winzip exe file

Track Speeds

Berlin - 100% - Known Problem....None at the current time.

When installing you can try just extracting it. It "should" create a folder name berlin_asa and put all the files inside because it's a winzip exe file

Track Speeds

Jennerstown - 100% - This track is a surpise to the ASA list. This is one of the tracks the real ASA series runs. I found this for N2002 and then coverted it over for N2003 and did the usual track.ini and logo changes. Known Problem - None.

When installing you can try just extracting it. It "should" create a folder name jennerstown_asa and put all the files inside because it's a winzip exe file

Track Speeds

Nashville - 25% - Some logo have been changed. Currenlty waiting for project wildfie to realease a new version of the track.

Next up. ????

Testing

I currently have no track.ini files that needs testing.

What I need you guys to test.

  1. I need drivers to test both the low and high lines. Tell me your best speeds and what your normal laps are over a 20 or more lap span

  2. I need someone to make a stable setup that could be used in the event of a fixed setup race.

  3. Tell me your overall thoughts on the grip and how you like the fell of the car and if possible anything you might change.

How to test a track.ini file

  1. Goto you NASCAR 2003 folder. Then Tracks Folder. Then Martinsville. In there you will find the track.ini You want to make sure you keep that in a safe place so when your done you can put it back. I suggest renaming it to track.old or track.ini.old. You could also copy it and then paste it into another folder.
  2. Open the zip file and extract the new track.ini file into the Martinsville folder.
  3. Then take the ASA test setup and put that into your setups.
  4. Open NASCAR 2003 and test the track. You might want a piece of paper so you can write down you best laps and any other notes.
  5. Once your done testing go back into your NASCAR 2003 folder. Then Tracks. Then Martinsville and delete the track.ini file you tested. You will put your original track.ini file back. That would be either renaming it from track.old to track.ini or copy and pasting it back into the folder.
  6. If you have problems contact superd46@yahoo.com
